    Not that I know of, only CD ones. It's a very very very large gap. If I had any idea how to do such things I would put one together.

    How tech-savvy are you? Put "extracting movie clips" into Google and you'll find loads of how-to links. I probably have some such software on my computer - never used it though (definitely NOT tech-savvy!)

    I am very moderately tech-savvy, and I use a Mac (so I don't have to be ;-)...there aren't many tutorials out there for Mac, and usually the software involved is expensive. I can extract clips from my DVDs and convert them to different file formats, but don't know how to put them together into a single DVD again.

    you need to buy Roxio Titanium Toast to create DVD. There might be cheaper software but I would go with the standard.

    Wouldn't iMovie + iDVD (which comes with all Macs) do the trick?

    I usually burn DVDs with Disk Utility (comes on the Mac)...but that's when I have either the correct VOB file sets or an IMG file. Creating those is what I have no clue how to do...

    I'll do some research and see if I can figure it all out with the software I already have :)

    iDVD takes QuickTime files which means you have to convert MPEG2 VOB files before burning.

    Disk Utility only creates Data DVDs.
    You will need some other software to create the DVD fs and directory structure so that it can be played in DVD players.

    There are lots of VOB extraction utilites. which you will need to create DVD even in Toast.

    I use mplayer commandline utility
    to grab the vob where $1 is the chapter that you want to extract.
    and of course 1 is the title no.

    mplayer dvd://1 -chapter $1 -dumpstream -dumpfile "movie-$1.vob"
