Laxmikant Pyarelal: Jeene Ki Raah (1969)

Jeene Ki Raah

They can't all be great... 'Jeene Ki Raah' is one of Laxmikant Pyarelal's many not very exciting scores (here in a Pakistani pressing). The traditional sounding 'Aa Mere Hamjoli' is playful enough to warrant a listen, and 'Chanda Ko Dhunde' is pretty, if rather forgettable. The main theme (I'm guessing, as it's featured three times) leaves me cold. So nothing special.

Track listing:
1. Mohd. Rafi: Aane Se Jiske Aaye Bahar (Fast)
2. Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar & Hemlata: Chanda Ko Dhunde
3. Lata Mangeshkar: Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage
4. Mohd. Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar & Chorus: Aa Mere Hamjoli
5. Mohd. Rafi: Aane Se Jiske Aaye Bahar (Slow)
6. Mohd. Rafi: Ek Banjara Gaye
7. Mohd. Rafi & Bhupendra: Aane Se Jiske Aaye Bahar

  2. Oh, I love Chanda Ko Dhunde and Aane Se Jiske Aaye Bahar...maybe you need to see them in context with the film though. Although I don't even remember if I've seen the film! *sigh*

  3. Disagree with you there. The songs are all very good, for my listening. I am an admitted LP fan and I liked these songs. They were a big hit in India when the movie had opened.

  4. Hi there

Man, you always seem so ho-hum about what you post. Why bother with stuff you don't really seem to like yourself? Let's hear the stuff that really gets you going...

  5. Kshaman: Glad you like - I encourage disagreement as that means there's a point to me posting the once I don't particularly fancy myself.

Anonymous: Surely not always?!? As for the "why bother", read my initial post plus the introduction on the side bar.

    PC x
