Kalyanji Anandji: Vidhaata (1982)

Vidhaata

'Vidhaata' seemed to be quite popular among collectors a while back; it's one I personally find hard to get very exited about. There's a nice string-augmented Lata Mangeshkar track ('O Sathi Aa'), two disco stompers from Asha Bhosle ('Udi Baba' and 'Pyar Ka Imtihaan') of which I prefer the second, both on the cheesy side though... and not much else to bother with. I'm willing to bet that a lot of listeners will find the Suresh Wadkar songs worthwhile, they're just not really for me.

An average Kalyanji Anandji effort then.

Track listing:
1. Kishore Kumar, Anuradha, Alka Yagnik, Padmini Kolhapure, Sadhana Sargam, Shivangi Kolhapure, Hemlata, Kanchan & Chorus: Saat Saheliyan
2. Lata Mangeshkar: O Sathi Aa
3. Suresh Wadkar: Aa Hosh Men Sun
4. Suresh Wadkar: Hathon Ki Chand Lakeeron Ka - Part I & II
5. Asha Bhosle & Chorus: Udi Baba
6. Asha Bhosle & Chorus: Pyar Ka Imtihaan
7. Suresh Wadkar & Anwar: Hathon Ki Chand Lakeeron Ka

  4. Hi Sir,
Just one point to make, it's Suresh Wadekar and not Suresh Waskra

  5. By jove you're right. How did that happen?
Duly corrected (you'll all need to fix the mp3 tags yourselves though).
Cheers for pointing it out Vishal :-)

ps. The album cover has him down as Wadkar, without the e.

  6. Udi Baba is a killer track...vintage electronics...combined with that udi baba hook...very tasty....that hook has been repeating in my head for a while now...
