Just a quicky to let y'all know there won't be any posts for the next couple of weeks - loads of stuff to do and places to be coming up, thus not really giving me any time to rip records. But I will be back :-)

when you come back can you please post Guru Dutt's Pyaasa. I have it on record and bought it knowing i don't have any means to play it just because I'm so fond of the film and soundtrack. its truly one of the best indian films and soundtracks, both.
ReplyDeleteHi.

Hi there! Once again back with a few words of praise! Thank you so much for all the music. It is simply great to listen to greatest melodies with such ease. You might like my online radio station at http://anywhere.fm/vividhbharati
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have a sincere request. Could you please upload "THE SOUL OF BOBBY" here? I would love to listen to the complete album. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks alot!
Let me know if I could help you in any way.
Sorry, can't do that. For the simple reason that I don't have it. Someone wants to sell me a copy, I'd be glad to though :-)

have a great haitus, dont rush back we'll still be here :)
ReplyDeleteHi! Actually Phil has "SOUL OF BOBBY".
ReplyDeleteIf you could request him we all could get to listen to it. Thanks alot.......
Be that as it may... however the point of this blog is for me to make sense of my own Bollywood collection, not to post (or repost) other bloggers' records.
ReplyDelete:-)

Alright! I understand! Still I hope you get the LP somehow and all turns favorable for people here.
ReplyDeleteThank you once again! Will be waiting!
Dude, your blog is awesome. I think I've already said that, but I'll say it again.
ReplyDeleteIf you're into funky 70s soundtracks, I've just reviewed several masala movies which have GREAT background music as well as fab songs. I'd recommend:
- Duniya Meri Jeb Mein
- Chor Sipahee
- Do Aur Do Paanch
- Namak Halaal
Also, have you heard the original Don? Great songs and great background music as well.
I totally agree! Amazing funk background music. DON especially is the pinnacle! Also, BOMBAY 405 Miles has great background score. I have the title music to few of the films. Let me know if you need anything! =)
ReplyDeleteI would recommend you the Bombay Connection series of albums. DJ DAN the Automator and DJ Shadow have done a great job of sampling some of the greatest funk scores and remastering them! A complete mixture that sounds wonderful to the ears.
ReplyDeleteBombay Connection series is by Edo Bouman and Milan Hulsing! And pc has a link to their site on the left here under "Links: More Bollywood" Shadow and Dan did Bombay the Hard Way. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat's especially cool about the Bombay Connection compilations is that my name is in the credits ;-)
ReplyDeleteNew post(s) later this week btw...

^^^ I did notice that. ;) I can't wait for more releases of theirs. Welcome back PC, take your time.
ReplyDeletePC further to Harshawardhan's comment, I can post all the background music for "DON" here in the comments if you want it :)
ReplyDeleteOh REZA! Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteI would greatly appreciate that. If only PC doesn't mind. After all he's the boss of the blog. Thank you so much once again. That was so thoughtful of you. :)
Harshawardhan
Hey PC would you mind Reza leaving the link here??
ReplyDeletePlease let us know!
Thanks! :)
Harshi
Not at all, wouldn't mind hearing it myself actually.
ReplyDeleteAnd in general, blatant spam and few other obvious things notwithstanding, the comments is a free-for-all; no one needs to to ask my permission to post, and I won't censor.

You are simply awesome PC! Thank you so much my generous friend. :)
